This is the most popular Chesapeake kayak for racing. Most people have wanted this built using the Core-cell for the hull as this makes the kayak lighter than any other kayaks of this size on the market, there for faster.

If you are wanting this kayak predominantly for racing please tell us when ordering and we will discuss with you what reinforcements you want on it. By omitting the extra fibre glass tapes on the chines, this will reduce the weight further. There are several ways in which we can reduce the weight of this kayak.

We will only do this for kayaks intended for racing as it does increase the risks of damage if you collide with rocks or other craft and obstacles. We will not do anything that would compromise the overall safety of the kayak.

This particular model is only built to order, though occassionally we build a standard wood composite expedition version for display and sale.
